Young people make choices every day. Most are small. Some can change everything.
Take the PledgeThe decisions that matter most are often made in just a few seconds. Thinking about them before the moment arrives can make all the difference.
Do I answer the text while I’m driving? Do I get in the car with someone who has been drinking? Do I speak up when a friend is making a dangerous decision? Do I join in when someone is being bullied—or do I stand up for them? Do I ask for help when I need it? Do I make sure my friends get home safely?
In the moment, those decisions can be difficult. There may be pressure from friends, fear of standing out or simply not enough time to think through what could happen next.
Every Choice Matters was created around a simple idea: Make the choice before you’re in the moment.
Presented by Rankin & Rankin Insurance, Every Choice Matters is a youth-focused community initiative designed to encourage local students to think ahead, look out for one another and make choices that protect themselves, their friends and their futures.
Through the program, students are invited to sign the Every Choice Matters Pledge—a personal commitment to make responsible decisions before they are faced with the pressure of making them in real time.
The goal isn’t to tell young people that they will never face difficult situations. It’s to help prepare them for those situations before they happen.
Because when you’ve already decided what you stand for, it can be easier to stand by that decision when it matters most.
Commit today. Be ready tomorrow.
The Every Choice Matters Pledge is a personal commitment to think ahead, make responsible decisions, look out for your friends and remember that the choices you make today can help protect your future.
Take the Every Choice Matters PledgeLocal student-athletes and student leaders will help carry the message through public service announcements, school and community outreach, and high school sporting-event activations throughout the area.
By hearing the message from their peers, students can see that looking out for one another, speaking up and making responsible choices are decisions worth being proud of.
